This magaizine will be aimed at people aged between 14 and 30. It will have a ranged audience of students, pupils and workers. it will be aimed at people who buy magazines reguly, atleast onces or twice a week. It will consist of lots of unsigned, popular bands. Rock and indie bands too.

Ideas for front cover-
The image for the front cover will be of the unsigned band 'Gravity of witch men'. With a tagline at the bottom of the page in bold bright colours so that you can notice it. The background for the cover will be a brick wall, it is already in most of the photos, but i am planning on photoshopping the picture to make the brick wall more visible. Most of the text on the page will include information aboyut the nand on the cover, and other unsigned band, all of which will be real bands, this will gove me something else to tlak about on the double page articel.

Ideas for double page article-
I will do an interveiw with an unsigned band called 'Gravity of witch men'. A real band, based in chippenham, all 5 menmebers are in sheldon. I will include photo's and will arrange a formal interveiw witht he band. The questions will be about the band, life outside the band, how they started, when and why, etc.
After receiving alot of useful feedback i produced a couple of graphs to show my results and also a few paragraphs evaluating some of the questions. Here they are...

My questionnaire I produced proved very successful, it helped further my knowledge of what makes a good music magazine, and what people would like to see in one.
From the data that I collected I found that most people preferred the Indie, Rock and Drum and Bass genre of music apposed to Rap, R&B, Metal, Hip Hop, Dance, Classical and Pop. Indie won the vote substantially with 7 votes out of only 9.
I was hoping to do an Indie and Rock genre as this is the sort of music that I prefer to listen too, meaning that it will make it easier to research as I already know what to look for.
I also found out that most people would only pay £1.50 - £2. This is less than I would pay for any magazine if I thought they were worth the money, meaning I have to create a sellable front cover that people will be willing to pay more money for. This will be one of my targets.
I asked what features people would like to see in a music magazine and I got a good ranged response. There were interviews, album reviews, up coming gigs, music charts for different genres, fashion articles, new releases and also posters, freebies and pictures. This gives me a good selection of features to include in my own music magazine.
They also named a few bands such as Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Feeder, Enter Shikari, Pendulum, Hadouken, The wombats, Foals. Kings of Leon, Killers, The Subways and also some unsigned acts. There were many more to choose form which will make it even easier to research. I also know quite a few unsigned bands such as Gravity of the witch men, which include several of my friends; I think it would be nice to include them in my magazine article.
I have actually thought about using ‘Gravity of the witch men’, as my cover photo. Looking at other music magazine such as NME, The Big Cheese, Q, Rolling Stone and Mojo. They all use a good mid to wide shot.

Thank you for you time :)

i like this image, with all their big smiles. I also thought of some tag lines that i could use for this photo on the contents page. eg. 'nick and tim didn't understand james's knock knock joke', ' nick and tim wern't impressed with benj's beer belly....' or somehting remotely funny. Again limited editing and good lighitng, focused and symmetrical.

This photo would be almost definatly used for the article. it shows the atmosphere and closeness of the band. It also has limited editing and good lighting, space and symmetry.

This was another image that i thought would be an effective front cover photo. I particlaly liekd the scattered arrangment and the use of levels. But most of all the poses, facial and body. Again, there would need to be a bit of editing, the box, brick enhamcing etc. but i think this would make a good front cover. Fun and cheerful.

i though that this image would be another good one for either the contents or/and the article. It shows the all 5 band members in natural positions, unposed. The lighting on each of there faces in good too. The background wouldn't need much editing either, all i would really need to do is delete the the furniture and enhance the brick work and piping behind them.

i thought this that this photo would be good to use in the article about 'Gravity of witch men'. I would edit the background and get rid of the school tables and chairs surrounding them.

This image is one that i have chosen to use for my front cover. It has good lighting, Symmetry and with a bit of editing and a change of background, this would be a good photo to use. I also like the Seriousness of them, of course, except james in the front.
